SAN MANUEL, PANGASINAN – Aboitiz Renewables, Inc., the renewable energy arm of Aboitiz Power Corporation (AboitizPower), has energized its 92.55-megawatt peak (MWp) San Manuel solar power plant in Pangasinan, further boosting its solar power portfolio.
San Manuel is the third solar facility operated by Aboitiz Renewables in the province, adding to the existing Cayanga-Bugallon and Laoag solar power projects.
“This marks another important step in our renewable energy expansion,” said Aboitiz Renewables President Jimmy Villaroman. “Pangasinan’s strong solar potential and available grid connections make it ideal for solar development.”
“We thank the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) for helping us bring this project online, and most especially, our hardworking team whose dedication made this milestone possible,” he added.
To date, San Manuel is the sixth solar facility completed by Aboitiz Renewables. It has also recently secured a green light from the NGCP for the technical and operational requirements for grid connection of the 173-MWp Calatrava Solar Power Plant in Negros Occidental, making it the largest operating solar and variable renewable energy facility in Visayas.
Together, Aboitiz Renewables’ complete solar portfolio provides clean energy across the Philippines, making a significant contribution to the nation’s energy transition goals. As of April 2025, ground-mounted solar accounted for 9.6% of installed capacity in the Philippine grid.
With more than 1,000 MW renewable energy projects in the pipeline, Aboitiz Renewables continues to position itself as an energy leader that drives sustainable growth by delivering reliable renewable energy solutions.
