Enhancing Energy Delivery

AboitizPower Corporation, one of the major power companies in the Philippines, is now in the process of enhancing energy delivery with the construction of the Laoag Solar Plant. In light of the current power situation, this new solar facility located in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, is expected to increase the stability of the national grid system and boost the country’s RE efforts.

Boosting Renewable Energy Capacity

The Laoag Solar Plant, which forms part of AboitizPower’s plan to increase its renewable energy capacity, aims to supply reliable electricity to the Philippines as it continues to experience increasing energy requirements. The project thus fits into the government’s grand plan of raising the renewable energy component of the energy blend to 35% by the year 2030

Commitment to Sustainable Energy

In an interview, Emmanuel Rubio, Former President and CEO of AboitizPower, said that the Laoag Solar Plant is not just an approach towards green energy but a definite solution for the energy necessities shortly. “This project is the evidence of our intention to develop sustainable energy sources and at the same time to meet the needs of reliability and security of the power supply,” – stated Rubio.

Economic and Environmental Impact

The Laoag Solar Plant is anticipated to produce a large number of megawatts of electricity from clean energy, thereby decreasing the usage of fossil energy and lowering the emission of greenhouse gases. This initiative is also expected to foster the development of the economy in the region through employment and support of local enterprises.

AboitizPower’s Response to Global Energy Challenges

The establishment of the Laoag Solar Plant by AboitizPower is an apt reaction to the universal effort to find an answer to the energy demands with a focus on sustainable ones, which also speaks of the company’s concern for the environment and energy security.

Philippines’ Energy Transition

The solar plant is just one of the many construction projects being implemented in the Philippines as the country undergoes its energy revolution.
