A major step toward renewable energy (RE) in Pangasinan took shape with the formal signing of a 10-megawatt (MW) solar power agreement in Bayambang. The ceremony, held on September 23, 2025, at the National Electrification Administration’s (NEA) HES Auditorium, marked a collaboration between the Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (CENPELCO) and CS First Green Agri-Industrial Development, Inc.
The signing was attended by key officials, including CENPELCO General Manager Engr. Rodrigo Corpuz, Board President Marlon Magalong, and CS First Green Chairman Cezar Quiambao, along with President Bernardo Bawing. NEA Administrator Antonio Mariano Almeda served as a witness, underscoring the project’s alignment with national efforts to expand clean energy infrastructure.

Project benefits
Almeda lauded the project as a forward-looking initiative. “It is expected to deliver a reliable, cost-efficient, and clean energy project that benefits both member-consumer-owners and the environment,” he noted.
The solar project forms part of a larger push to expand clean and sustainable energy in the region. The initiative aims to lower electricity costs, enhance power reliability, and reduce environmental impact, while boosting the cooperative’s ability to meet rising energy demand.
The ceremonial signing underscored the shared commitment of public and private stakeholders to deliver quality service to CENPELCO’s consumers. Positioned as a model RE project, the Bayambang plant is expected to strengthen the stability and efficiency of the electricity network across Pangasinan and other areas served by the cooperative.
